Clean Up Australia Day 2011
On Sunday the 2nd of March, the Muslim Women’s Welfare of Australia (MWWA) participated in Clean Up Australia Day. The day was an enormous success with many dedicated community members donating their time to make Australia spick-and-span.
Volunteers met at 8 am and spent the day cleaning various sites in the Liverpool area. There was a great spirit of festivity and activity as the volunteers teamed up and met others from their local community, all with an eagerness to make their area the cleanest.
“The day was an example of the shared determination of the locals to make Liverpool an environmentally friendly area. We were delighted to have contributed to this great initiative, with over 60 bags of rubbish being collected on the day” said MWWA president Faten El-Dana.
