The Inaugural International Islamic Conference 2017, Moderation in Islam

Muhammad the Prophet of Mercy and Messenger of Peace

It was our pleasure to partake in the inaugural International Islamic conference hosted in Sydney by Darulfatwa, the Islamic High Council of Australia in collaboration with Majlis Al-Ulama -Jakarta under the heading ” Muhammad, the Prophet of Mercy and the Messenger of Peace”. The conference which was held last Monday carried the slogan: “And we have made You a nation of Moderation” and consisted of two sessions with at least three speakers in each session. Other than from Australia, the contributing speakers came from various south Asian countries, namely: Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand and others. Two books were launched and distributed to the audience on the day, one published in English and the other in Arabic. MWWA President, Hajjah Faten El Dana OAM was one of many authors who wrote about the meaning of mercy in Islam and its impact in fostering a harmonious society.

We would like to congratulate the conveners for the success of this first of its kind conference in Australia and we appreciate the opportunity to partake in this special event.
