MWWA president Mrs. Faten El Dana OAM was pleased to accept an invitation from Western Sydney University (WSU)

MWWA president Mrs. Faten El Dana OAM was pleased to accept an invitation from Western Sydney University (WSU) Chancellor Peter Shergold AC and the Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Barney Glover AO to attend the Annual iftar held at the University’s Parramatta Campus. Mrs El Dana Was also humbled to be asked to give a community and alumna address to special guests ranging from university professors and academics, representatives of government and non-government organisations.
In her address Mrs El Dana spoke briefly about her journey that led her to WSU and the work she currently does the community. She also touched on her career’s history starting from her work; as a registered nurse and a midwife in a number of hospitals in the South West Sydney, as a teacher of English as a second language, as a professional interpreter, as a radio presenter and community leader.
Her speech was well received by the audience who commended her for the extensive aMWWA president Mrs. Faten El Dana OAM was pleased to accept an invitation from Western Sydney University (WSU) nd outstanding work she has done for the community over the last 20 years. At the event WSU Chancellor, took the opportunity to launch a Special WSU ‘head scarf’ for the Muslim students studying at the university.
At the end of the event, Mrs El Dana was presented with a gift as a sign of appreciation for sharing her experience and achievements.

It is worth mentioning that Mrs El Dana was recently awarded another prestigious award; the Community Fellow of the University of Western Sydney in recognition of her exceptional service to the Greater Western Sydney region.
