Cyber Safety Forum

Cyber smart

Today, the ‘Online’ space in which young teenagers delve into may easily become an unsafe and alarming world of risk and consequences. For this reason, on the 29th of November 2013, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) held an informative ‘Cyber-Smart’ forum to provide parents, teachers and community members with several guides on using their smartphones safely. MWWA representatives, were pleased to participate with Minister for Communications, Paul Fletcher MP and Executive Manager, ACMA’s Digital Economy Division, Andree Wright in such an informative event.

Practical advice on how to improve personal privacy, where to get help and how to access counselling was given to the audience. MWWA’s representative gathered the resources that were given on the day and spoke to Andree Wright about ways that MWWA will actively use the resources. Mrs Wright was pleased to hear about the enthusiasm of the MWWA team.

MWWA aims to adopt a Cyber smart approach and use the resources provided by the launch in educating, assisting and empowering mothers within the community.
